Thomas Pesendorfer designs the obverse as well as the reverse side of the gold coin. The obverse side endured the musical motif of the Austrian capital’s famous worldwide orchestra and enhanced the international demand and popularity of the coin. The obverse displays the Great Pipe Organ of the concert hall in Vienna, standing tall at 36 feet, weighing 28 tons, and comprising 6,138 pipes in its entirety.

The reverse side of the gold coin displays the musical brilliance and artistic abilities of Thomas Pesendorfer and his depiction of musical instruments. These musical instruments are used in a charming, rather harmonic display with a cello in the center, two violins flanking it on either side, and supported by other instruments like a bassoon, French horn, and harp.
